
P-Bruins fall to Portland

Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins played their final game before the AHL All-Star break on Saturday night in Portland, with the Pirates taking a 3-1 decision. The Black and Gold remains in second place in the Atlantic Division with its 22-16-10-2 record (56 points).
Bruin center Matt Herr scored his team's lone goal on a second period power play. It was his 10th goal of the season, and fifth on the power play. Kris Vernarsky and Darren VanOene had the assists. Rookie goaltender Hannu Toivonen made 28 saves, and is 9-9-4 on the season.
Herr will leave on Sunday morning for the Pepsi AHL All-Star Classic in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He will be playing for the PlanetUSA team for the third consecutive season. The AHL Skills Competition will be played on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The All-Star Game will be played on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Both events will be televised locally on Fox Sports New England.
The Bruins return home to host the Worcester IceCats on Friday, February 13 at 7:05 p.m. The game will be televised live on COX 3.
