Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee Admirals center Tony Hrkac scored his 900th career regular season point and Wade Flaherty stopped all 23 shots he faced as the Admirals rolled to their third straight win on Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-0 over the Utah Grizzlies.
Facing a Grizzlies team that had played three games in three nights in three different states, the Admirals took an early lead and never looked back. Milwaukee's Mathieu Darche started the scoring at 10:34 of the first period when he notched his seventh power play goal of the year to give the Admirals a 1-0 lead. Darren Haydar and Andrew Hutchinson also lit the lamp in the first as the Ads led 3-0 after one stanza.
Hrkac's big play game just 2:51 seconds into the second period when he assisted on Jay Henderson's power play tally and collected his 594th career assist to place him in the exclusive 900 club. Hrkac fed Henderson for another goal at the 13:44 mark of the third to finish the game with two assists.
The Thunder Bay, ONT native now has 901 career points (306g-595a), including a team leading 36 points (11g-25a) during this year. During his days in an Admirals sweater, Hrkac has totaled 257 points in just 231 games. He has played in over 750 NHL contests and collected a Stanley Cup ring with the Dallas Stars in 1998.
The Admirals now have 57 points on the year (24-14-6-3) and are in the midst of a five game unbeaten streak at the Bradley Center (4-0-1). Milwaukee is in action again this coming Wednesday when they take on the Manitoba Moose at 7 pm.
