
P-Bruins fall to Lowell in pre-season action

Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins sustained their first loss of the 2003-04 exhibition season on Sunday night in Stoneham, Massachusetts, as they fell 2-1 to the Lowell Lock Monsters. The Bruins are now 1-1-1 in the pre-season.
Bruin forward Brendan Walsh scored for Providence, on assists from former Providence College defenseman Jay Leach and former Friar forward Nick Lent. Rookie goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 29 shots in his first appearance with the team.
Head coach Scott Gordon's team plays the Springfield Falcons at Boss Arena at the University of Rhode Island on Wednesday, October 1 at 7:05 p.m. They play Lowell at the Bridgewater (MA) Ice Arena on Friday, October 3 at 7:05 p.m., before wrapping up the exhibition season the next night at the Springfield Civic Center, where they take on the Falcons at 7:35 p.m.
The Bruins open up the 2003-04 regular season, their 12th in the AHL, on Friday, October 10, when they host the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m. The Providence Bruins will host a Boston Bruins pre-season game against the Stanley Cup champion New Jersey Devils at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 7:05 p.m.
The Providence Bruins are currently offering a Hat Trick Special. Fans can purchase a ticket to the Boston Bruins game on September 30, as well as a ticket to the Providence Bruins-Worcester IceCats game on Friday, October 17 at 7:05 p.m. and to the Providence Bruins-Bridgeport Sound Tigers game on Saturday, November 8 at 7:05 p.m., for just $40. In addition, fans that purchase four Hat Trick Specials will receive a free Providence Bruins hat.
