Outlaws Trade for Ward, Pick up 14 in 2015 MLL Supplemental Draft

DENVER - The Denver Outlaws selected 14 players in the 2015 MLL Supplemental Draft and traded goalie Charlie Cipriano and attackman Curtis Dickson to Florida for goalie Dillon Ward, the team announced on Wednesday. Also in the trade the Outlaws picked up two fourth-round supplemental draft picks (26th and 27th overall), giving General Manager Tony Seaman three of the eight picks in the fourth round.
"We've been very impressed with Dillon Ward when he played for the Hamilton Nationals, also as a college player, and then as the MVP of the 2014 World Games when Canada won the championship," Seaman said. "We wish Charlie and Curtis the very best of luck, and we believe Charlie has an excellent chance to start for the Launch."
Ward, a goalie out of Bellarmine University, racked up a number of accolades in 2014, as he was named the National Lacrosse League's 2014 Rookie of the Year in recognition of his strong season with the Colorado Mammoth, and was named the Most Valuable Player and the Outstanding Goalie at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships. Ward made 10 saves in Team Canada's 8-5 gold-medal win over Team USA.
He did not see any action in the 2014 MLL season, but played four games for Hamilton in 2013, in which he totaled 38 saves for a save percentage of .567.
Cipriano spent three seasons with the Outlaws as a backup goalie, seeing action in a total of 14 games over the span, totaling 61 saves and 50 goals allowed, save percentage of .550, and a win-loss record of 1-2. Dickson played five games for Denver last season, amassing 11 goals and five assists in that span.
Overall, the Outlaws added four defensemen, three attackmen, five midfielders and two goalies in the 2015 MLL Supplemental Draft. Please see below for a list of the 14 players that the team selected.
Preseason active rosters will be set at 40 players for the 2015 season.
