Outlaws Select Three University of Denver Pioneers Among Nine Total Picks in College Draft

DENVER - The Denver Outlaws including drafted nine players, including three from the University of Denver in the 2014 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft.

The Outlaws opened their draft by choosing midfielder Jeremy Noble from the University of Denver with the sixth overall pick. Noble has totaled 54 goals and 44 assists for 98 points in 44 career games through his first three years with the Pioneers. A 2013 Tewaaraton Award Watch List member, Noble is a two-time All-American at the University of Denver.

Denver's next pick came at No. 16 overall, which the team used to select Brent Hiken, a faceoff specialist from Stevenson University. Hiken was a 2013 USILA Honorable Mention All-American who ranked fourth in the nation with a .709 faceoff percentage (202-of-285).

With their third selection, the Outlaws added defenseman Ty Sounders from Lehigh. Sounders is a two-time All-American, who has started all 50 games he has played and caused 42 turnovers with 95 ground balls in his three-year collegiate career.

The Outlaws used their fourth-round pick on Colin Dunster, a midfielder from Bryant University. Dunster ranked fourth in the NEC averaging 2.0 goals per game as a sophomore, leading the Bulldogs in points (50) and goals (36).

In the fifth round, the Outlaws selected goalie Jamie Faus, the second player from the University of Denver drafted by the Outlaws. Faus earned USILA honorable-mention All-America honors in 2011 and has posted an 8.71 goals-against average in 39 career games for the Pioneers. Faus has saved 328-of-595 shots in his three-year career, posting a 22-8 record with a .551 save percentage in the span.

Next, the Outlaws picked defenseman James Connelly from Delaware and midfielder Nick Fernandez from Princeton in the sixth round.

In the seventh round, Denver drafted midfielder Terry Ellis, the third member of the team's 2014 draft class from the University of Denver.

The Outlaws concluded their selections by picking Ben McIntosh, a defenseman out of Drexel with the 62nd overall choice in the 2014 Collegiate Draft.

Overall, the Outlaws added four midfielders, three defensemen, one goalie and one faceoff specialist in the draft.
