
Outlaws look to turn tide against Mallards

TONIGHT'S GAME: The Kansas City Outlaws host the Quad City Mallards tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Kemper Arena. This is the first trip to Kansas City for the Mallards and is the second of nine straight home games for the Outlaws. This season, the Outlaws are 0-2 against the Mallards, losing 6-2 and 7-1 at Quad City.
INSIDE THE OUTLAWS: Kansas City is six points away from fourth place, held by Quad City, in the Western Division. So far this season, the Outlaws, 7-13-1, have lost its last 10 out of 11 games and are 3-2 from home. The team's leader in points, forward Joe Seroski, has scored more than twice as many goals than any other Outlaw and ranks third in goals for the league. After tonight, the Outlaws will continue its season with seven consecutive home games before traveling to the home of the Missouri River Otters on December 26.
A GLANCE AT THE MALLARDS: The Quad City Mallards, 10-7-1, visit Kansas City tonight with a 3-7 record from the road and have not won away from home since November 3. They are forth place in the UHL's Western Division. The Mallards goaltender, Robert Gherson ranks third in the UHL with a .927 saves percentage. They have five players with double digit points for the season, with a very balanced scoring attack.
TOYS FOR TOTS: The Kansas City Outlaws are collecting Toys for Tots at Outlaws home games on Friday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 4 at 1 p.m.; Friday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, December 15 at 7 p.m.; Friday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy with them to the games. The toys will be distributed to needy kids throughout the Kansas City area this holiday season.
