
Outlaws Fall to Scorpions

Yuma, AZ - Chico starting pitching Demetrius Banks struggled and the Outlaws fell 8-4 to the Yuma Scorpions on Tuesday night at Desert Sun Stadium. Banks (1-1) allowed ten hits and seven runs in six innings of work, walking two and striking out three.
Carlos Leon, Beau Riportella, and Juan Camacho, the top three hitters in Yuma's lineup, combined to go seven for twelve with six RBI. The bottom six hitters recorded only three hits on the night and one RBI.
Brian McFall drove in three of the four Chico runs, two coming on an RBI double in the three-run Outlaws fifth. Jay Pecci and Chris Lubanski each had two hits for Chico.
Gilbert De La Vara won the rematch with Banks, after Banks defeated the Scorpions last Thursday night in the opener of the series. The Yuma lefty went seven strong innings, scattering seven hits and giving up the four Chico runs. He walked two and struck out eight.
The Outlaws won the six game series 4-2. They will have a travel day on Wednesday and open a six game series against the Maui Na Koa Ikaika on Thursday night in Maui.
