
Otto Kemp Named April International League Player of the Month

Allentown, Pennsylvania - Lehigh Valley IronPigs infielder Otto Kemp has been named the International League Player of the Month for April as announced by Minor League Baseball.
Kemp slashed .330/.421/.711 for a 1.132 OPS in the month. He played in 25 games, accumulating 11 doubles, one triple, and eight homers, driving in 24 runs. He also stole three bases and scored 23 times.
Kemp had 10 multi-hit games, including two four-hit games. He set a career high with six RBI on April 29 as he homered twice against the Rochester Red Wings. On April 22 he was hit by a pitch four times, setting a new IronPigs franchise record. On April 25, he doubled three times, tying the IronPigs franchise mark (last done by Nick Maton, 5/20/22 @ Rochester). Kemp reached base in all but four games he played in during the month, making starts a 1B, 2B, 3B, and LF.
Kemp was top-10 in the International League in virtually every category during the month ranking 7th in AVG (.330), t-1st HR (8), 2nd RBI (24), 1st SLG (.711), 2nd OPS (1.132), t-2nd H (32), 2nd 2B (11), 1st XBH (20), 1st TB (69), and 1st R (23).
Kemp spearheaded an IronPigs offense that led the International League in runs (153) during April. The 'Pigs also had the most total bases (375), highest OBP (.364), and 2nd highest OPS (.800). The IronPigs tied for the league lead with Jacksonville with 19 wins in April.
Kemp is the first monthly award winner for the 'Pigs since Cal Stevenson took homer July 2024 Player of the Month Honors.
The IronPigs and Kemp return to Coca-Cola Park to open a six-game series against the Worcester Red Sox on Tuesday, May 6.
