Luca Caputi scored twice and added two assists to lead the Mississauga IceDogs to a 9-3 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 4,222 at the Tullio Arena. Jordan Owens and Chris Lawrence each added two goals and an assist for the winners while single scores went to Jadran Beljo, Nathan Martine and Drew Schiestel. Andrew Merrett collected three assists as the IceDogs won for the third straight time to move to 28-15-0-2 on the season. Jordan Skellett paced the Otters with a goal (on a penalty shot) and an assist. Stanislav Polodna and Kelly Geoffrey also scored for the Otters, who dropped to 10-32-1-2. The IceDogs led 5-1 after one and 6-2 heading into the third. Mississauga out shot the Otters 36-24 in the game. Kevin Beech started for the Otters and allowed three goals on six shots before being replaced by Jonathan Laniel midway through the opening period. Laniel allowed six goals on 30 shots. The three stars of the game were 1. Caputi; 2. Lawrence and 3. Skellett.

The Otters wrap up the weekend tomorrow (Sunday) with a matinee game in Guelph against the Storm. The 3 p.m. contest can be heard live on True Oldies 1330 and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 2:45 p.m. The next Otters home game takes place Wednesday at the Tullio Arena when they complete a home-and-home series against the Storm.
