Jared Boll, Chris Terry and Andrew Fourier each scored third period goals to lift the Plymouth Whalers to a 5-3 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,927 at the Tullio Arena. Joe Gaynor and Evan Brophy netted the other Whalers goals as Plymouth improved to 32-27-1-4. Mike Blunden paced the Otters with a pair to lift his season total to 45, which ties the veteran forward with Brad Boyes (2000-2001) and Geoff Platt (2004-2005) for second most goals in a single season in franchise history. Cory Pecker holds the franchise mark with 53 in 2001-2002. Justin Hodgman scored the other Otters goal while Ryan O'Marra collected two helpers. The loss officially eliminated the Otters (22-34-3-3) from post-season contention. The two teams were tied at one after one and two after two. The Otters grabbed the lead with a power-play goal 19 second into the third only to see the Whalers net the final three goals of the game to win going away. The Otters out shot the Whalers 30-25 in the game as Ryan Ludzik took the loss. The three stars of the game were 1. Blunden; 2. Boll and 3. Terry.

The Otters return to action tomorrow (Saturday) night at 7:30 p.m. at the Tullio Arena when the Kitchener Rangers present the opposition. Tickets for the game are available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Erie Civic Center Box Office. Hamot Hockey Night begins at 7:30 p.m. Sunday the Otters wrap up the weekend in London against the Knights.
