
Otters nipped in OT

Erie Otters News Release
Ryan Potruff scored 3:15 into overtime to lift the Guelph Storm to a narrow 2-1 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,883 at the Tullio Arena. Mike McLean netted the other Guelph goal as the Storm improved to 22-15-2-4 on the season. Mitch Gaulton netted the lone Otters goal. Erie lost for the seventh straight time to slip to 9-31-1-2 on the season. The Otters led 1-0 after one. The two teams were tied at one heading into the third. Kevin Beech started for the Otters and turned aside 35 shots in a losing effort as the Storm out shot the Otters 37-23. The three stars of the game were 1. Beech, 2. Potruff and 3. Gaulton.
The Otters return to action with home games Friday and Saturday at the Tullio Arena. Friday at 7:30 p.m. it's the Otters and the Toronto St. Michael's Majors presented by WICU 12. Saturday Breakiron Jewelers presents the Otters and the Mississauga IceDogs at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the games are available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Erie Civic Center Box Office.
