OWEN SOUND, Ont. - Matt Carter scored three times to lead the Owen Sound Attack to a 5-3 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 2,525 at the J.D. McArthur Arena. Lane MacDermid and Ondrej Pekarik also scored for the Attack, who won their second straight against the Otters to move to 3-11-1-0 on the season. Wayne Simmonds registered three assists. Shanw Szydlowski, with the first of his career, Robyn Sertic and Ryan O'Reilly replied for the Otters, losers of nine straight. Erie is now 3-12 on the season. Owen Sound led 1-0 after one and 4-2 heading into the third. O'Reilly struck five minutes into the third to make it a one-goal game but Carter completed the hat trick with less than five minutes remaining in regulation to secure the victory. Owen Sound out shot the Otters 58-29 in the game as Jaroslav Janus took the loss. The three stars of the game were 1. Carter; 2. Janus and 3. Simmonds.

The Otters return to action Friday when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Rangers in an 7:30 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m. The next Otters home game takes place Saturday, November 3rd when the Plymouth Whalers visit the Tullio Arena for a 7:30 p.m. start. The first 2,500 fans into the game receive a free taco courtesy of Taco Bell and it's also Otterween with prizes for fans dressed in the best costume.
