
Otters Blanked By Attack

David Davenport turned aside 23 shots to lead the Owen Sound Attack to a 4-0 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 2,504 at the Tullio Arena.
Wayne Simmonds paced the Attack with a goal and an assist while Matt Carter, Michael Farrell and Scott Tregunna rounded out the scoring. Owen Sound improved to 7-13-1-0 with the win.
The Otters dropped their 14th in a row (0-12-1-1) and fifth straight on home ice to sink to 3-15-1-1 on the season.
Owen Sound led 1-0 after one and 2-0 heading into the third.
The Attack out shot the Otters 43-23 in the game as Shane Owen started and took the loss.
The three stars of the game were all from the Attack. Davenport was the first, Simmonds the second and Carter the third.
The Otters return to action Friday night when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Rangers in a 7:30 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.
Saturday the Otters return home to face the Saginaw Spirit in a 7:30 p.m. contest presented by McDonald's. The first 2,500 fans receive a free snack wrap courtesy of McDonald's and one lucky fan will win the chance to shoot for $5,000 in the FOX 66 Bank Shot.
