
Ottawa Announces New Team Name

Ottawa, ON -- The newest member of the Can-Am League finally has a name, as the franchise will be called the "Ottawa Rapids," the team announced on Valentine's Day.
Ed Nottle, a baseball veteran who spent 10 years as a player in the Chicago White Sox system and has managed a number of minor league teams (including the Brockton Rox), was named the Rapids' inaugural Manager. The Tornadoes' first game against the Rapids will take place in Ottawa on Friday, June 6. The Rapids will make their first trip to Worcester a week later for a three-game series, beginning on Friday, June 13.
