OTTAWA - Following a thrilling Priority Selection Draft Lottery on Wednesday night, the Ottawa 67's organization now owns the 12th overall pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore.

Ottawa 67's General Manager James Boyd was pleased with the outcome of the Priority Lottery Draft. "I think it's a pretty good pick and when you look at the rest of the draft, we will pick the 12th, 28th, 32nd and 40th. That's four really good picks in the top 40," said Boyd.

"We feel like our scouts have done an excellent job over the course of the year. We have a solid list and with these picks I think we are going to have an exciting draft," added Boyd.

The 12th overall pick might sound familiar to some Ottawa fans. A certain Logan Couture was selected at that rank by the 67's in 2005. In 209 games with the Barber Poles, Couture recorded 289 points. He was later drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the first round, 9th overall, at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and the rest is history.

Ottawa's last four first round picks were the following players:

2020 - F Nick Moldenhauer (20th overall)

2019 - D Jack Matier (21st overall)

2018 - F Cameron Tolnai (6th overall)

2017 - F Graeme Clarke (6th overall)

The 2021 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore will take place from June 4th to June 5th and will be streamed on the OHL's YouTube channel, across social media platforms Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, and covered extensively at ontariohockeyleague.com.
