Ottawa 67's Take First Round Series

March 29, 2010 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

Our Ottawa 67's played a great game yesterday as they eliminated the Niagara Ice Dogs in 5 games. The score was 5-1, but the play on the ice was much closer than that as the teams battled back and forth all game. Corey Cowick and Petr Mrazek both played fantastic as they lead the team to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Cowick scored 4 goals and Mrazek took care of the rest stopping 31 of 32 shots in the blowout.

The fun wasn't saved for the players though, as the fans got in on the action! A few lucky fans had the opportunity to participate in our on-ice intermission activities which included a car wrapping contest and the Calypso water park raft race! Both these activities kept the fans on the edge of their seats as they watched the participants give it their all. Unfortunately only one group could be crowned as champions, but everyone walked away with prizes in their pockets and smiles on their faces!

Fans don't forget that round 2 will be underway soon enough with our 67's facing off against the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. The 67's will need your help, as the 7th man, to beat a tough Majors team. Don't forget to keep an eye out for us, as we'll be writing to you, as always, from In the Stands!
