Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's will kick off their 2023-2024 OHL season at home on Friday night, as they host the Peterborough Petes at The Arena at TD Place at 7 PM.
The reigning J. Ross Robertson Cup winners after putting up a record 51 wins and 107 points last season, the 67's will hit the ice once again in regular season action with a skilled core of returning players ready to begin the battle for an OHL championship. Among them will be the seven Barber Poles who earned invites to NHL rookie camps recently, including Brady Stonehouse (Edmonton), Collin MacKenzie (Ottawa), Brad Gardiner (Dallas), Luca Pinelli (Columbus), Matthew Mayich (St. Louis), Cooper Foster (Pittsburgh), and Tuomas Uronen (Las Vegas).
The Finnish Uronen, a Golden Knights draft pick, was drafted in the first round of the 2023 Import Draft, while fellow newly-minted 67's forward Kimi Körbler went to Ottawa in the second round. Among those also expected to make their 67's debut on Friday is centre Nick Whitehead, whom Ottawa drafted in the second round, 23rd overall, in this year's OHL Priority Selection Draft. The 16-year-old is coming off a strong AAA season with Mount St. Charles Academy, scoring 41 goals and 83 points in 55 games.
In addition to the action on the ice, a lucky 67's fan will win two season tickets for this year on Friday. To enter, simply purchase a ticket for Friday's home opener. Current season ticket holders will be automatically entered in the contest.
