Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS- Former RoughRiders infielder Renny Osuna hit a solo home run in the seventh inning sealing a 1-0 victory for Arkansas Monday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. It was the first home run Osuna has hit in Dr Pepper Ballpark since joining the Travelers.
Justin Grimm made his first start with the 'Riders since making his major league debut with the Texas Rangers. He pitched three scoreless innings before Cody Buckel took over in the fourth. Buckel retired ten Arkansas batters in a row before giving up a solo home run to Renny Osuna in the seventh.
That would be the only run to cross the plate for either team as Travelers' starter Johnny Hellweg and reliever Kevin Johnson combined to shutout Frisco.
Johnny Hellweg picks up his fourth win of the season pitching for eight innings allowing five hits an on runs while walking one and striking out four. Cody Buckel is tagged with his third loss of the season pitching for six innings allowing three hits and one run while walking one and striking out six.
Frisco plays the series finale against Arkansas Tuesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Nick Tepesch (2-1, 6.04) gets the start for Frisco. He will be opposed by right-handed hurler Orangel Arenas (2-7, 6.03). First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. and can be heard on 1630 KKGM or on ridersbaseball.com. Pre-game coverage starts at 6:30.
