Osprey beat Brewers behind Sosa

Missoula PaddleHeads News Release
MISSOULA, MT - Keny Sosa and two relievers combined on a four-hitter, and Bobby Stone homered to lead the Missoula Osprey to a 4-1 win over the Helena Brewers in front of 3,104 fans at Ogren Park Allegiance Field on Friday.
Sosa (1-0) allowed the four hits and a walk in six innings of work, and struck out six batters to pick up his first win as a starter for the Osprey (2-2). Chase Anderson and Ryan Robowski made it stand up, not allowing a baserunner in their combined three innings of work, with three strikeouts. Osprey pitching retired the final 10 Brewer batters and 16 of the last 17.
Stone's first-inning roundtripper gave the Osprey a 1-0 lead. The 400-foot shot to right field was the eighth in Stone's career in Missoula, the first seven coming last season. David Nick was among three Osprey who had two hits apiece, plus turned in a splendid play on defense for the second straight game.
After the Brewers took advantage of two Osprey errors to tie the game in the top of the third, Missoula would get some payback in the home half of the fourth inning. Ramon Castillo led off the inning by reaching on an error and moved to third on a Paul Goldschmidt double. Helena starter Adrian Rosario (0-1) then committed a balk, allowing Castillo to score the tie-breaking run. Goldschmidt, who had two of Missoula's 10 hits on the night, advanced to third on Rosario's balk, then scored on a Keon Broxton (two hits) chopper over a drawn-in infield for a base hit and a 3-1 lead.
Sosa and company would make that stand up. After a double-play ball in the fourth, Sosa struck out the side in the fifth, and then survived a two-out triple by Helena right fielder Pete Fatse to escape the sixth.
Anderson retired all six batters he faced, striking out one, and the Osprey would get insurance in the eighth, on a RBI single by Castillo - who has at least one hit in each game this season. Robowski fanned two of the three batters he faced to pick up his second save of the young season.
The Osprey and Brewers continue their three-game series here on Saturday. Left-hander Eury De La Rosa will get the start for Missoula, while Helena counters with right-hander Hiram Burgos. There are a limited amount of tickets available for the game.
Tickets for all Osprey home games are available now by calling the Osprey at (406) 543-3300, stopping by the Osprey Team Store at 412 W. Alder and online at www.missoulaosprey.com.
