Missoula PaddleHeads News Release
MISSOULA, MONT - Former Missoula Osprey pitcher Touki Toussaint is slated to make his Major League Baseball debut Monday for the Atlanta Braves as he becomes the sixth former Osprey to make his debut this season. Toussaint is the 67th Osprey alum to reach the bigs.
Drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2014 in the first round of the MLB Draft out of Coral Springs Christian Academy in Coral Springs, Florida, Toussaint made his Osprey debut August 4 in the same year. In five starts, the right-hander owned a 1-3 record with a 12.51 ERA in 13.2 innings.
Toussaint then moved to Kane County the following season before being traded in June of 2015 to the Atlanta Braves along with Bronson Arroyo for infielder Phil Gosselin. Toussaint moved through the Braves system swiftly, starting the 2018 season in Double-A.
After pitching to a 4-6 record with a 2.93 ERA, he was promoted to the Gwinnett Stripers in Triple-A where he dominated with a 2-0 record and 2.01 ERA in 31.1 innings for the best stretch of pitching in his Minor League career.
Toussaint joins Daniel Palka, Brad Keller, Justin Williams, Jefry Ramirez, and Michael Perez as former Osprey to make it to the majors this season.
The O's continue their 2018 season and a quest for a playoff berth.
Osprey ticket plans are available now and can be purchased at the MSO Hub, by phone at (406) 543-3300 and online at MissoulaOsprey.com.
