Oshawa - On Friday January 7th at 12:15pm Jerry Ouellette MPP Oshawa will be bringing together the donors of a program designed to help curb youth suicide in remote northern First Nation communities.

Ouellette will be joined by several players from the Oshawa Generals Hockey team and Corporal Roger King of the RCMP's Aboriginal Policing Section along with representatives from the Oshawa Minor Hockey Association and Crow Sports at the General Motors Centre shipping and receiving area to load the equipment for delivery.

The General Motors Centre shipping and receiving is located in the rear of the downtown facility adjacent to Bruce Street.

The Oshawa MPP will be outlining the difficulties faced by First Nation children in remote areas in obtaining sports equipment as well as the benefit of creating hope for First Nation youth living in extreme conditions. The group will then proceed in loading bags of donated hockey equipment collected from the contributing organizations.

"With the help of the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club and the RCMP, we have been able to continue to implement a program that will greatly enhance the lives of First Nation kids in these communities", affirms Ouellette. "I would like to thank the Oshawa Generals and the RCMP and all the generous individuals in Oshawa who contributed to this great cause".

"I would also like to extend a special thank you to the minor hockey leagues in Oshawa and Dave at Crows Sports for their generosity and extra effort," adds Ouellette.
