HERSHEY - The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League that left wing Oskar Osala has been named the Reebok Edge/AHL Rookie of the Month for November. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

Osala, 20, scored 10 goals in 14 games during the month of November, helping the BEARS to the top point total in the American Hockey League entering December. He notched his first AHL hat trick November 15 against the Philadelphia Phantoms. Osala also enjoyed two different two-goal games during the month, scoring twice against the Phantoms on November 2 and two against the Binghamton Senators on November 26. He was a fourth round selection (97th overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, and enters play this week second in the AHL in goals (16), one behind teammate Alexandre Giroux.

In recognition of his achievement, Osala will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming BEARS home game.

The BEARS, who boast the most wins in the American Hockey League, host the Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday night at GIANT Center. The Norfolk Admirals return to HERSHEY this Sunday to take on the BEARS at 5:00 p.m. Tickets remain for this weekend's games at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
