Norfolk Tides News Release
The Orioles today announced that they have placed SS ALEX CINTRON on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring and selected the contract of SS FREDDIE BYNUM from Triple-A Norfolk.
Cintron left last night's game against Kansas City in the bottom of the 7th inning. He has hit .275 (19-69) with three doubles, a triple, a home run and seven RBI in 26 games for the Orioles.
Bynum batted .192 (19-99) with three doubles, a triple and five RBI in 34 games for the Orioles before being designated for assignment on June 22. He cleared waivers and was sent to Norfolk, where he batted .400 (6-15) in five games for the Tides.
The transfer of RHP DANYS BAEZ from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list and addition of Bynum gives the Orioles a full 40-man roster.
