
Ortiz Wins South Atlantic League Player of the Week

LAKEWOOD, NJ - BlueClaws outfielder Jhailyn Ortiz was named South Atlantic League Player of the Week for the week ending June 10th.
The 19-year old from the Dominican Republic was 10-23 with two home runs, three doubles, and six RBIs last week. Since being activated off the disabled list on May 21st, Ortiz is 29-80 (.363) with three home runs. His home run on Sunday at Greensboro was his 20th professional home run after he hit eight each of the last two years with the GCL Phillies and Williamsport.
He is the fourth BlueClaw to win a South Atlantic League award so far this year. Pitchers Spencer Howard, Will Stewart, and David Parkinson have all been named SAL Pitchers of the Week.
Ortiz is the #5 prospect in the system per MLB Pipeline.
