Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - Fans who love the global game and thrive off the excitement found only at Orlando City SC matches, can now demonstrate their support by purchasing a specialty team license plate, presented by Ford.
Fans across the state of Florida can visit their local tax collector's office to purchase a license plate, with many offices offering the ability to purchase the license plate online. Season Ticket Members and fans who signed up for a free pre-sale voucher can now redeem their voucher(s) at their nearest tax collector's office, as well.
"We've been working for a while to get Orlando City specialty license plates available to our fans throughout the state of Florida, and we are very excited that they have arrived and are now available for purchase and pick up," said Pedro Araujo, chief marketing officer for the Club. "We encourage fans to be among the first to get the license plates and to sport them around town to showcase their passion and dedication to our Club."
Those interested in purchasing an Orlando City specialty license plate are encouraged to contact their local tax collector before visiting the office to ensure their shipment has been received and that the plates they were initially allotted have not already been purchased.
More than 3,000 fans signed up in advance to receive the Orlando City specialty license plates, which is the required threshold for the state to move ahead with production.
"It is rewarding to know that we have so many fans who led the way with these new plates by purchasing or signing up for vouchers in advance," added Araujo. "They are the heart of our Club, and we love and admire their enthusiasm for the game and for our city."
Individuals who purchased vouchers in advance can visit the tax collector's office in their county of residence. The voucher has been attached to the customer's record, so the physical voucher is not needed. However, it is important to note that the individual to whom the voucher was assigned is the only one who can redeem it. Additional details are available here.
Florida sports license plates are a program of the Florida Sports Foundation to support professional sports teams, charitable organizations in the state, and youth and amateur athletes. A portion of the proceeds from the Orlando City plates will benefit the Orlando City Foundation, which uses the sport of soccer to bring health and wellness activities to underserved communities in the Greater Orlando area.
To learn more, visit your local tax collector's website, contact their office, or visit in person.
