Orangeville A's News Release
The A's were not able to slow down the scoring of Lightning guard Tyshawn Patterson, who finished with 25 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. A's forward Erik Copes finished the night with a team high 17 points and 6 rebounds, which was also a season high for Copes.
After a difficult loss at home, the Orangeville A's (12-24) were set to face the London Lightning (22-13) on the road.
The 1st quarter forced the A's into an uphill battle for the rest of the night, after the Lightning ended the quarter on a 23-0 run. The A's saw themselves down 37-16 at the end of the 1st.
The 2nd quarter followed in similar fashion for the A's, seeing them go 34% from the field, while London went 63%. A's forward Jameson Tipping was one of the few positives for the A's leading with 8 at half and finishing the night with 12 points. After 24 minutes of play the A's were stuck with a 27 point deficit, 65-38.
The 3rd quarter saw the A's improve their pace of play, with Erik Copes having his highest scoring quarter of the season (11), finishing the night with 17 points and 6 rebounds. London would move on to take their biggest lead of the game so far, at the end of the 3rd, 95-64.
The A's were seemingly unable to slow down the Lightning offence in the fourth, despite the efforts of A's guard Lewis Jackson who finished the night with 16 points and 10 assists. Tonight's game would end with a 32 point London advantage, 129-97.
