ST. CATHARINES, ON - After losing a close one to the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans the night before, the Orangeville A's (15-22) headed to the Meridian Centre to take on the Niagara River Lions for a 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon game. Both teams started the game evenly matched offensively as an exchange of baskets ensued early. Anthony Harris continued his great play for the A's as he steadily hit shots and found his way to the basket for a 10-point opening quarter. Jameson Tipping was right there with him to contribute 6 points of his own. Although the A's shot 38% from the field (10-26) and 3-8 from three-point range (3-8), the River Lions put them at the line for plenty of extra opportunities and the A's capitalized shooting 6-7 (87% FT). Nick Okorie led the way for Niagara with 8 points. The quarter ended with a close score of 32-28 for the Lions.

The Niagara River Lions looked to continue their steady offence as they came out quick in the second quarter on a 5-1 run to take a 37-29 lead over the A's. Tyshawn Patterson, however, had different plans and he was huge for the A's off the bench back-to-back three pointers as part of his 16-point explosion in the frame. The A's were within two possessions of the River Lions through 7 minutes of the 2nd when the River Lions went on a 9-0 run to separate themselves from the A's, 59-45. Richard Amardi scored 9 points while Samuel Murray contributed 8 points for the River Lions. The quarter ended with the Niagara River Lions up 67-54 over the Orangeville A's as they continued to battle.

In the third quarter, the Niagara River Lions came out very polished as their fluent ball movement and aggressive rebounds allowed them to create separation from the A's. Richard Amardi continued his impressive play scoring 11 points by the mid mark of the frame. The A's Anthony Harris orchestrated the offence, passing and scoring to keep Orangeville in the game as he managed 7 points and 3 assists in the quarter. The offensive play for the Lions was very efficient as they finished the quarter with a score of 100-81.

Even though the A's started the quarter down 100-81 they burst out into the fourth quarter with a 10-2 run courtesy of four points from Anthony Harris and another 6 from Alex Johnson as the A's cut the Lions lead to 11 points. The Lions adjusted and responded through Samuel Muldrow who scored 8 points in the frame. The A's tried to stay competitive through the play of Alex Johnson, Jameson Tipping and Tyshawn Patterson but in the end the Lions walked away with the 121-106 win. Richard Amardi and Samuel Muldrow led Niagara scoring as both posted impressive double-doubles of 24 points, 10 rebounds and 23 points, 12 rebounds respectively. For the A's, Anthony Harris and Tyshawn Patterson led the way with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 24 points and 3 assists respectively. In the end four A's players finished in double-digits.
