April 29, 2020 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Lexington County Blowfish News Release
As local owners, Vicki and I have some uplifting news for Lexington County and the Midlands. The Coastal Plain League has been monitoring the COVID-19 announcements of the Federal, State and Local authorities in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia very closely and has determined it's best to delay the League's 2020 season opener til July 1st.
Based on following all the guidelines, the Blowfish will play its fifteenth season of summer collegiate baseball (and sixth season in Lexington County) from the beginning of July til the middle of August. A 46 game home and away schedule with 25 being home games at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
The Blowfish organization is looking forward to that day when we can safely open the ballpark for our fans and play baseball, provide family fun & entertainment in a safe environment- all based on our governor, health officials and local guidelines. In no way will we jeopardize the safety of our fans, players, coaches, staff, umpires and vendors.
Please let us know if you have any questions or additional concerns as Vicki and I would like to hear from you. My mobile number is 251-654-4003. More information will be coming to you very soon. You can get up to date information on our website at goblowfish.com as we are updating every day!
Enthusiastically!
