ST. PIERRE MOVES AGAIN
The Kansas City Royals Tuesday traded former Erie SeaWolves catcher Max St. Pierre to the Brewers in exchange for RHP Ben Hendrickson.
St. Pierre spent parts of four seasons with the SeaWolves (2001-05) and made it as high as Triple-A Toledo in the Detroit organization. His best season with the 'Wolves was in 2005 when he batted .278 with 5 home runs and 46 RBI. A fan favorite in Erie, St. Pierre was known for his defensive sills. In 2005 he led all Eastern League catchers by throwing out 46.5 percent of baserunners attempting to steal.
St. Pierre played 10 seasons overall in the minor leagues for Detroit before joining the Royals as a minor league free agent in January. He was assigned to Triple-A Nashville.
CLEVLEN NEXT IN LINE
According to manager Jim Leyland, should an injury occur to any outfielder this season, his first choice would be former SeaWolves right fielder Brent Clevlen.
