Ontario Reign Weekly: Reign Prepare for Texas-Sized Showdown with Rampage and Stars this Week

The Week That Was...

The Ontario Reign crossed paths with the San Jose Barracuda and Bakersfield Condors last week, grabbing a week record of 1-1-0-0 and sent their over standing to 8-2-2-0.

On Wednesday, Veterans Day, the Reign celebrated Military Appreciation Night presented by Ontario International Airport benefiting Bob Hope USO Ontario in front of a rowdy crowd of 7,424 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Defenseman Kurtis MacDermid recorded his first professional goal and forward Sean Backman buried the game-winning tally to send the Reign over the Barracuda 2-1 and push their winning streak to three contests. Goalie Peter Budaj earned his league-leading eighth win of the season making 16 saves.

The Condors denied the Reign their fourth-straight victory with a 3-0 decision on Saturday at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California. Forward Michael Mersch led the team with five shots on goal and netminder Ray Emery suffered the loss making 22 saves.
