
American Hockey League Announces Suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:
Utica Comets defenseman Andrey Pedan has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game at Springfield on Nov. 13.
Pedan was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline). He will miss Utica's game Friday (Nov. 20) vs. Hartford.
Syracuse Crunch defenseman Joey Mormina has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game vs. Binghamton on Nov. 13.
Mormina was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline). He will miss Syracuse's game Wednesday (Nov. 18) vs. Portland.
Lake Erie Monsters left wing Trent Vogelhuber has been suspended for two (2) games as a consequence of an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game vs. Grand Rapids on Nov. 14.
Vogelhuber was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline). He will miss Lake Erie's games Friday (Nov. 20) and Saturday (Nov. 21) at Iowa.
Lake Erie Monsters left wing Brett Gallant has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions in a game vs. Grand Rapids on Nov. 14.
A game misconduct for interference was added to Gallant's record under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline); as a result, Gallant received an automatic one-game suspension under the provisions of AHL Rule 23.6 for accumulating his second game misconduct in the "physical fouls" category this season. He will miss Lake Erie's game Friday (Nov. 20) at Iowa.
