MOOSE EARN FIRST HOME VICTORY

The Manitoba Moose put together two impressive home games this past weekend against the top team in the AHL's Western Conference, the Chicago Wolves. While the first night didn't bring them any points the momentum built in that game helped Manitoba to a thrilling overtime victory on Friday night.

Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015: Manitoba 3 vs. Chicago 5

The Moose came out of the gate with a strong effort setting the pace against the strong Chicago Wolves team. Manitoba outshot the Wolves 36-19 and seemed to have the puck more than not. Two quick goals :90 seconds apart in the third period sunk the Moose by a 5-3 score. Patrice Cormier, Chase De Leo and Jiri Fronk had Manitoba's goals. Jeremy Welsh had two goals while Petteri Lindbohm, Evan Trupp and Ivan Barbashev had the others for the Wolves.

Friday, Nov. 13, 2015: Manitoba 3 vs. Chicago 2 - OT

The Moose had an incredible effort on Friday night in the rematch with the Wolves. The Moose had their first come from behind victory while trailing in the third period after Jiri Fronk had a great individual effort on a wraparound goal to even the game. In overtime it was forward Joel Armia who was the hero after scoring on a breakaway following a perfect stretch pass from Josh Morrissey. Scott Kosmachuk had the other goal for the Moose which opened the scoring in the first period. Goaltender Eric Comrie picked up his first win of the season making 22 saves in the victory.

Friday, Nov. 20 & Sunday, Nov. 22

The Moose will face the Bakersfield Condors for the first in history this weekend. The Condors joined the AHL's new Pacific Division this year and are the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. On Friday the Moose will be wearing special "Wilderness Camo" jerseys.

JIRI FRONK

Since returning from a minor injury forward Jiri Fronk has been nothing short of spectacular. The native of the Czech Republic had a goal in each of the games this past weekend, both of the highlight reel variety. On Thursday he scored on a beautiful breakaway goal and followed that with a critical game tying goal on Friday where he powered through the Chicago defence to score a wraparound goal.
