
Ontario Fury Surge Past Sacramento, 9-1

ONTARIO, CALIF. --- The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, turned in a dominating performance Sunday night, as they downed the visiting Sacramento Surge 9-1 in front of 1,963 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
The Fury (2-0) was led in the game by forward Tino Nunez, who scored the Fury's first-ever hat trick. The Surge's sole goal came from Edric Soltero halfway through the first period.
Nunez opened the scoring 5:17 into the game, hitting a beautiful bicycle kick for the first in a long line of goals for the Fury, who held winless Sacramento (0-4) to only six shots on goal in the game.
The Fury got back-to-back goals 31 seconds apart, as Majell Aterado scored 31 seconds after Jeff Bader netted a goal. Aterado also had the assist on Bader's goal, giving the Fury a 3-0 lead. Aterado ended the game with two goals and the one assist.
Sacramento did get a strong showing from goaltender Marc Birnkammer, who recorded 18 saves in his first start of the season for the Surge. Ontario's Sanaldo got the win in nets, stopping five shots in 53:02 of action before giving way to backup Manny Kaji, who faced no shots.
