Omaha, Neb. - After a season opening eight-game road trip, the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are set to begin the home portion of their schedule this Friday as they begin a new era of Lancers hockey at the brand new Ralston Arena.

Omaha (2-6, 4 pts.) split its two games last Friday and Saturday in a weekend series at the Tri-City Storm. After recording just 11 total goals through the team's first six games, the Lancers' offense exploded last Friday in an 8-3 victory over the Storm. Eli Lichtenwald and Tyler Moy each tallied three points and seven different Omaha skaters recorded goals as the Lancers earned their second win of the young season. Omaha failed to complete the weekend sweep Saturday though as Tri-City rebounded for a 2-1 victory over the Lancers. Tim Bonner and Garrett Gamez both netted third period goals and Johan Mattsson turned aside 27 of Omaha's 28 total shots en route to the victory.

The Lancers are back in action this Friday evening when the team opens the brand new, state-of-the-art Ralston Arena in a rematch with the Storm. Tri-City (2-4-1, 5 pts.) is coming off a weekend split with the Lancers as the two Nebraska rivals prepare to square off for the third time in the last eight days. After traveling to Omaha on Friday, the Storm continue their weekend on the road when they head to Sioux Falls to battle the Stampede on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Omaha's busy weekend continues Saturday and Sunday as the Lancers face off against the Des Moines Buccaneers in a home-and-home series. Des Moines (4-3-1, 9 pts.) won both of its games last weekend earning a 10-3 victory over Team USA on Friday before doubling up the Sioux City Musketeers 2-1 the following evening. The Buccaneers enter the weekend having won four straight games.
