
Omaha completes sweep of weekend series

Columbus, OH. - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets fell to the Omaha Lancers 3-2 Saturday night at the Dispatch Ice Haus.
Omaha defenseman Keir Ross opened the scoring for the Lancers midway through the first period. Junior Blue Jackets defenseman and captain Patrick Goebel answered with less than a minute remaining in the period to tie the game heading into intermission.
The Lancers (5-0-0) took a 2-1 lead when forward Jake Hauswirth scored 1:17 into the second. Omaha forward Nico Sacchetti scored on the power play on an assist by forward Chris Connolly to push the lead to two goals. Ohio (2-2-1) forward Clark MacLean answered with a power-play goal at 9:14 to cut the score to 3-2, concluding the scoring.
Junior Blue Jackets goaltender Pasquale Terrazzano stopped 33-of-36 shots in his second start of the season. Lancers goaltender Shane Madolora made 28 saves on 30 shots in the winning effort. Ohio was 1-for-4 on the power play while Omaha went 1-for-5.
The two teams will meet again Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15 in Omaha. The series will be the last time the clubs meet this season.
The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets will host the Waterloo Black Hawks next weekend, Oct. 26 and 27 at the Dispatch Ice Haus. Game times are set for 8 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
