Omaha Beef To Hold Can Opener During Saturday's Home Opener

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Beef, professional indoor football team, invites their fans and the general public to participate in the Open Door Mission's Can Opener during the BEEF's home opening game Saturday evening against the Bloomington Extreme at 7 p.m.
As a joint promotion between the both entities, fans who bring at least five cans of food to donate to the mission, they will receive $5 off of their ticket to the game. If fans have already purchased their tickets, they are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items.
Also on Saturday, members of the BEEF organization will be volunteering at the mission's Eggstra Special Egg Hunt, which will take place starting at 9 a.m. A block of tickets has been reserved for the staff and clients of the Open Door Mission, thus allowing them to enjoy the game Saturday evening.
BEEF Team President Dakota Crow urges fans to get involved with the "Can Opener."
"We are thrilled to partnering with the Open Door Mission this season," Crow said. "We encourage our fans to get involved with the âCan Opener' and help us raise food for the mission. We are expecting a great crowd and hope that everyone who attends enjoys the total game day experience."
The BEEF will look to kick off their 2008 home slate with a solid showing on the field with the backing of the greatest fans in indoor football.
The team is 7-1 in home opening games. The BEEF and the Extreme have met four teams all-time, with the series split at 2-2.
The Omaha Beef will open their 2008 home season versus the Bloomington Extreme on March 15, 2008. All home games will be played at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Beef are a member of the United Indoor Football Association, the premier indoor football league in America.
