Omaha Beef News Release

The Omaha Beef professional indoor football team nears the end of their inaugural "Bleed for the Bleed" campaign and will hold a final campaign blood drive tomorrow evening at Side Pockets, 1250 N. Washington, in Papillion.

The American Red Cross will have their Bloodmobile on site and the drive will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will run until 8 p.m. The weekly BEEF coaches' show will also be going tomorrow evening at Side Pockets, beginning at 7 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to give blood for the Red Cross event and join the Omaha BEEF players, coaches, Prime Dancers, Rump Roasters and front office staff as they look to continue to make a positive difference in the Omaha community. Those interested should contact BEEF Promotions Coordinator Sarah Trimble at (402) 213-4359 to set up a donation time. All those fans giving blood at Side Pockets tomorrow night will receive a special gift from the Omaha BEEF.

The requirements for donation are as follows: must be at least 17 years old (16 in Nebraska with a signed Red Cross parental/guardian consent form), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.

Sarah Trimble urges the BEEF's fans to donate blood if they are able.

"Blood donation is an excellent way of giving back to the community," she said. "I would encourage our BEEF family to take time to help others who need it the most."

Since the "Bleed for the BEEF campaign" kicked off in April over 13,137 donors have donated blood. Way to go Omaha! The BEEF want to express our gratitude to those who have donated over the last six weeks and want to extend a special thanks to all those fans and BEEF "family" members who gave to the cause. The BEEF would also like to remind everyone that giving blood is a year-round event and encourage all the citizens of Omaha to give blood regularly as it will help save lives all over the Omaha area.

The BEEF are in their ninth year of Professional Indoor Football in Omaha, NE. Home games are played March through June. All home games start at 7:00pm at "The Slaughterhouse" - Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Beef are a member of the United Indoor Football Association, the premier indoor football league in America.
