Omaha Beef To Hold 2008 Player Tryouts January 18 And 19

Omaha, NE - Have you ever wanted to play professional indoor football? Your opportunity will come shortly after the new year. The Omaha Beef, professional indoor football, team will hold tryouts for their 2008 team on January 18 and 19.

The tryouts will be located at the Omaha Sports Complex, 14706 Giles Road, in Omaha, and will begin at 7 p.m. both days. The fee to pre-register is $40 while the fee the day of tryouts is $50. If players want to pre-register, please send a check to the Omaha Beef, 1804 Capitol Avenue, Omaha, NE 68102, or contact the Beef office at (402) 346-BEEF (2333) with your credit card information.

On Friday evening, players will be evaluated on the following:

- Height and weight

- 225 Bench

- 40-yard dash

- Short shuttle

- Long shuttle

- 1-on-1's

- 3-on-3's

- Specific position skill evaluation

Saturday evening will be an invite-only portion of the tryout. Items will be discussed Friday night for players asked to return.

If for some reason or inclement weather one cannot attend Friday night's portion of the tryout, testing over the same drills will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Head Coach Steve Warren is excited about the 2008 season and urges players to try out for the team.

"We look forward to seeing what type of talent comes out of Omaha and the surrounding areas for the tryouts," Warren said.
