Omaha Beef News Release
Omaha, NE - For the ninth time in nine seasons, the Omaha Beef professional indoor football team is in the playoffs. The road to United Bowl IV begins this Saturday, when the team hits the road to face off with the Billings Outlaws Saturday evening at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. Kickoff is slated for 8:05 p.m., Central time and 7:05 p.m. Mountain time.
If fans cannot attend the game, they are encouraged to listen to KKAR 1290 AM Radio (www.1290kkar.com) or purchase the game for $7 via the B2 Networks online at www.b2livetv.com.
The BEEF head into the playoffs with a wave of momentum having defeated their rival, the Sioux City Bandits 34-9 last Saturday evening at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The win was the second of the season over the Bandits and the 10th of the season for Omaha whose record now sits at 10-4. The BEEF's 10 wins are the most by the team since the 2004 season when they went 10-6.
The match-up will be the third between Omaha and Billings this season. The teams met in weeks one and 11 as the Outlaws won both match-ups, 70-37 and 61-40, respectively. The game will be the 12th meeting all-time between the two franchises. Both teams are in the top 5 of several UIF categories including: scoring offense and defense, passing offense and defense, rushing offense and defense, total offense and defense and turnover margin.
Head Coach Steve Warren feels the BEEF can win if they play effectively in all facets.
"It's going to be a tough battle in a tough place to play," Warren said. "For us to win the game, we're going have to execute on both offense and defense playing with heart and emotion for all four quarters."
Should the BEEF win on Saturday, they would head north up Interstate 29 to meet the Sioux Falls Storm in the Western Conference Championship game next Saturday evening, June 28th at the Sioux Falls Arena.
The BEEF are in their ninth year of Professional Indoor Football in Omaha, NE. Home games are played March through June. All home games start at 7:00pm at "The Slaughterhouse" - Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Beef are a member of the United Indoor Football Association, the premier indoor football league in America.
