Lightning Girls to Attend Professional Camp in July

Lightning Girls Director Tatum Keller and three members of the 2008 squad are preparing to attend one of the most prestigious dance camps in the country next month. The team members will attend the United Spirit Association (USA) Professional Camp in Anaheim, CA on July 28-30.

The Lightning Girls that were chosen to attend the camp are Catie, Maria, and Kirsten. The girls were chosen based on their work ethic, performance throughout the year, community involvement, and an interview. The team members are currently involved in fundraising efforts to pay for the trip. The Lightning Girls have been named the UIF Dance Team of the Year for two consecutive years.

USA has been conducting camps in the Western United States for 51 years. USA camps offer more usable material per student than any other camp. USA spirit material incorporates the latest styles into clean, squad-oriented cheers and routines. Instructors at the USA Camp have worked with numerous professional and college teams including the LA Clippers, San Francisco 49ers, Memphis Grizzlies, and many more. The instructors have been apart of over 750 award winning teams.

The 2008 Lightning Girls team is comprised of 13 talented ladies ranging in ages 18 to 26. These dedicated ladies, including professionals, businesswomen, educators and full time students are recognized as the premier dance team in the region and Sioux Falls community. When not working, rehearsing, or performing on the field, the Lightning Girls stay busy within the Sioux Empire Community through local volunteer opportunities and charitable events.
