United Indoor Football Week 15

Omaha, NE - Garrett Mehl, Demoine Adams, Joe Bevis, and Adam Hicks have been selected as United Indoor Football (UIF) players of the week for their play in week 15 of the UIF season.

Mehl, quarterback for the Colorado Ice, is being honored as Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last week's game. In Colorado's 56-24 win over the Wichita Wild, he completed 16 of 22 passes for 232 yards and six touchdown passes. Mehl added five rushing yards to finish his evening with 237 yards of total offense. In his first season with the team, he lead the Ice in both of the rushing and passing categories as he threw for 1,229 yards and 21 touchdowns while also rushing for 311 yards and six touchdowns. The Ice finished their second season in the UIF with a 6-8 record.

Adams, defensive lineman for the Omaha Beef, has been tabbed as co-Defensive Player of the Week. Last weekend, in the Beef's 34-9 win over the Sioux City Bandits, he tallied 5.5 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and also recovered a fumble. This weekend, he and his teammates hit the road in the first round of the UIF playoffs, and will face the Billings Outlaws Saturday evening at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark.

Bevis, linebacker for the RiverCity Rage, has been tabbed as co-Defensive Player of the Week. Last weekend, in the Rage's 45-23 loss to the Billings Outlaws, he tallied a team-high nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss while also recovering a fumble and had a quarterback hurry. Offensively, he ran three times for five yards. This weekend, he and his teammates will host the Sioux City Bandits in the first round of the UIF playoffs Saturday evening at the Family Arena.

Hicks, kicker for the Sioux Falls Storm, is being honored with Special Teams Player of the Week. He went two-of-three on his field goals (45, 18) and made five-of-six on extra points to contribute 11 points in the team's 49-41 win over the Bloomington Extreme. This weekend, Hicks and the Storm will have a bye before hosting the winner of the Billings Outlaws-Omaha Beef game next weekend in the Western Conference Championship game.
