Omaha Beef Head To Billings For First Game Of 2008 Season

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Beef, professional indoor football team, kicks off their 2008 season Saturday evening at 8:05 p.m. Central time with a key Western Conference match-up against the Billings Outlaws at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark.

The teams will meet for the first time this season, but the meeting will be the fifth in less than a calendar year. The game will mark Head Coach Steve Warren's head coaching debut. He will be assisted this season by James Kerwin, Tony Veland and Tommie Williams.

The BEEF hope to improve on an 8-8 season from a year ago. Billings went 9-7 last season in their first year in the United Indoor Football Association.

On the offensive side of the ball, the BEEF welcome back Jamar Day, Tyrice Ellebb, Ken Horton, James McNear, Mike Nizzi, Dan Potmesil and R.J. Rollins. The offensive newcomers include Bo Bartik, Javon Bell, Blake Fuchtman, Cameron Gales, David Horne, Ron Jackson, Anthony Parks, James Poynter, Chad Schmigel and Carlos Wright.

Defensively, Dustin Creager, Chris Eads, Brent Hafford, James Head, Reicko Jones and Marques Salmond all return. They will be joined by Demoine Adams, Gerald Biggers, Colin Bryant, Diezeas Calbert and DJuan Johnson.

On special teams, Ricky Lebeda will serve as the team's kicker.

The BEEF invites all their fans to a game viewing party at Indigo Joe's, Saturday evening at 6 p.m. Indigo Joe's is located at 7425 Dodge Street in Omaha. The video feed will be courtesy of B2 Networks and the audio feed will be the BEEF's radio broadcast feed of KKAR 1290 AM. Representatives from the Prime Dancers, the Rump Roasters and the Meatheads will be in attendance. The game will be also available on KKAR 1290 AM and at www.1290kkar.com at 7:55 p.m. Central. Matt SantaMaria and Casey Knopik will have the call.

The Omaha Beef will open their 2008 home season versus the Bloomington Extreme on March 15, 2008. All home games will be played at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
