Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) has added a UIF veteran to the opening day roster. The Storm signed defensive end Dominic Payne in time to make the trip to Bloomington. Payne will be entering his third season of football in the UIF.

Payne started his career with the Peoria Roughriders in 2006. Payne appeared in six games and finished second on the team in tackles with 49.5. He led the team is sacks with 6.5 and also recorded an interception. Payne's season was cut short by injury that led him to miss a tryout in the Canadian Football League. Payne returned to action in the middle of the 2007 season with the Bloomington Extreme. With Payne in the line-up, the Extreme won three of their last four games to qualify for the playoffs. In the playoffs, Bloomington dominated the Rock River Raptors by a score of 43-30 before falling in the Eastern Conference Championship to Lexington.

Payne played college football at Western State College of Colorado. In 2004, Payne was named to the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Second team. Payne was named an All-RMAC Honorable mention in 2003 after leading the team in sacks with six and finishing second on the team in tackles with 79.

Season tickets for the 2008 season are on sale now. Call the Storm office at 332-4225 to reserve your seats for "The Biggest Show in Town" as the Storm look for their fourth championship in a row in 2008.
