TODAY'S OPPONENT: The Albuquerque Isotopes are the Triple-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 2003. The team was previously the Calgary Cannons before moving to Albuquerque after the 2002 season. A team known as the Albuquerque Dukes played in the PCL from 1972-2000 before moving to Portland.
TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks continue their four-game series with Albuquerque . They are 4-5 on Wednesdays.
STANDINGS: The RedHawks are in second place, four games behind Albuquerque .
LAST GAME: Left fielder Jason Botts hit two home runs in Oklahoma 's 15-12 win over Albuquerque . The RedHawks trailed 11-6 after five innings before scoring five in the top of the sixth. Botts finished the night two-for-five with five RBIs, the fourth five-RBI game by a RedHawk this year. Chad Allen had the eighth four-hit game by a RedHawk this year, going four-for-five with an RBI.
VS. ALBUQUERQUE: The RedHawks are 10-4 against the Isotopes and 4-2 in Albuquerque this season. The RedHawks can tie the club record for most wins against one team in one season with a win tonight. The RedHawks were 11-5 against the Omaha Royals in 2003. Esteban German is batting .434 [23-for-53] with 22 runs and 15 RBIs against the Isotopes this season. The RedHawks have out-scored the Isotopes 107-74 this year.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Oklahoma's R.A. Dickey makes his eighth start this year for the RedHawks. Dickey has not started on the road since June 10 at New Orleans in his third PCL start of the year. Frank Castillo makes his third start and fifth appearance against the RedHawks this year. In his first two starts, he allowed two home runs to Jason Botts and homers to Jason Conti and Will Smith.
STREAKERS: Outfielder Jason Conti is on a six-game hitting streak dating back to June 26. He is 10-for-25 [.400] with three RBIs during the streak. Outfielder Jason Botts is on a seven-game hitting streak dating back to June 28. He is 9-for-25 [.360] with four doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs during the streak. Third baseman Marshall McDougall is on a seven-game hitting streak dating back to June 28. He is 11-for-25 [.444] with 11 RBIs during the streak.
ADRIAN GONZALEZ: First baseman Adrian Gonzalez is 17-for-37 [.459] with three doubles, two home runs and 10 RBIs in 10 games since returning from a knee injury that sidelined him for 12 games. In three seasons, Gonzalez is batting .331 [47-for-142] in 35 games at Isotopes Park as a member of the Isotopes in 2003 and as a RedHawk in 2004 and 2005. In his career, he has eight doubles, a triple, nine home runs, 43 RBIs and 34 runs scored at the stadium. In two seasons against them, he is batting .325 [37-for-114] in 28 games. He has six doubles, 10 home runs, 35 RBIs and 24 runs scored against them. He has three multi-homer games [two 2-HR, one 3-HR] against them.
MARSHALL MCDOUGALL: In his last 13 games, Marshall McDougall is 19-for-49 [.388] at the plate with two home runs and 17 RBIs.
IAN KINSLER: Second baseman Ian Kinsler lost his team lead in RBIs and share of the team lead in home runs after last night's game. However, he had his first RBI in 12 games. He hasn't hit a home run since June 17 against New Orleans [16 games].
DOT-DOT-DOTS: RedHawks Esteban German, Ian Kinsler, and Gerald Laird have been selected to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team and will play in the Triple-A All-Star Game July 13 in Sacramento , Calif. ... Manager Bobby Jones was named a coach for the World team for the XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game July 10 in Detroit. He will also be the Pacific Coast League hitting coach for the Triple-A All-Star Game ... Jose Veras' save last night was his first since June 2 at Iowa . That save was also the last road save by the team ... The 15 runs last night was the most this season and most since they scored 17 against Memphis Aug. 26, 2004 ... The 21 hits was the most by the team this year and most since a team-record 31 June 22, 2004 at Albuquerque.
