The Express return home to the Dell Diamond on Friday after traveling to Iowa.
Fans will enjoy the following scheduled nightly promotions during this three-day homestand:
Friday, July 8
Fireworks Fridays - Fireworks presented by Bud Light follow the conclusion of the 7:05 PM game against the Nashville Sounds. Also, the first 4,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a copy of the Capital City Sports Report magazine.
Saturday, July 9
Bobblehead Giveaway - The first 3,000 fans to arrive the game will receive a "Spike" (mascot) bobblehead! Saturday's game against the Sounds will be televised on KNVA.
Sunday, July 10
HEB Kids Day - All kids age 12 and under will receive a Craig Biggio T-shirt upon entrance to the Dell Diamond. Sock-Hop inflatables, trackless train, and additional fun entertainment for the kids will be located on the third base outer concourse from 5:30-7:30 PM. All kids 12 and under are welcome to participate in Run-The-Bases after the game.
Division Standings - The Express are currently in third place in the American Conference Southern Division of the PCL. The Albuquerque Isotopes lead the pack by five games, and the Express trail second place Oklahoma RedHawks by a single game.
Attendance Report - Fans broke the season attendance record set at a single game on Monday, July 3, with 12,150 fans in attendance. The previous record was set on May 11 for D.A.R.E Day with 11,978. The total attendance for the 2005 season in 48 dates is 465,664, third best in the PCL behind Sacramento and Memphis. Many thanks go out to our loyal Express fans that have made this inaugural Triple-A season such a success!
Express All-Stars - Two of our own are heading to Sacramento, California for the Triple-A All-Star game on July 11-13. Third baseman Mike Coolbaugh and pitcher Taylor Buchholz will represent the Express, as the Pacific Coast League squares off against the International League on July 13 at Raley Field. Fernando Nieve is one of six players heading to Detroit to represent the Pacific Coast League in the Seventh Annual XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game. The game is part of Taco Bell® All-Star Sunday, July 10 at Comerica Park. The game will begin at 4:00 p.m. (EDT) and will be televised live on ESPN2.
