Memphis, Tenn. - Memphis topped Omaha 5-1 Wednesday night at AutoZone Park to win their third in a row.

Redbirds starter Chris Gissell pitched his first complete game of the season and earned his seventh victory. He allowed one run on seven hits with no walks and six strikeouts. DH John Gall led the offense with four RBI on the night. He had a two-run homer in the fourth and drove in two more runs with a double in the fifth. CF Skip Schumaker drove in the ‘Birds only other run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Omaha starter Kyle Snyder (0-2) took the loss after allowing five runs on six hits in 4.2 innings. The right-hander fanned six and walked one. RF Aaron Guiel had a pair of doubles and LF Cory Aldridge drove in the Royals only run.

Memphis will bring the brooms tomorrow, when they go for the series sweep. Right-hander Adam Wainwright (6-6) will start for Memphis in the series finale and Omaha will send southpaw Chris George (6-5) to the mound. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
