
Oklahoma rally dooms 'Birds

Memphis, Tenn. - Oklahoma used a five-run rally in the fourth inning to beat Memphis 7-3 Saturday night at AutoZone Park.
The RedHawks sent nine men to the plate in the fourth inning and used four hits to score five runs. Taylor Teagarden led off the inning with a solo home run and Chris Shelton's two-run double capped the rally. Four different RedHawks had two hits each, including Shelton. Cody Haerther led the Redbirds with three singles. Rico Washington and Jarrett Hoffpauir both hit home runs to provide the offense for the âBirds.
Oklahoma starter Tommy Hunter was strong over eight innings to earn the victory. The big right-hander gave up one run on six hits with four strikeouts. Memphis starter Jess Todd was roughed up for five runs on seven hits in just four innings in taking his first loss with the Redbirds.
Memphis and Oklahoma play tomorrow night with game time scheduled for 6:35 p.m. and the final fireworks show of the year to follow. P.J. Walters will be on the hill for the âBirds and face RedHawks right-hander Doug Mathis.
