Oklahoma City Blue News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY, March 15, 2015 - The Oklahoma City Blue topped the Grand Rapids Drive, 109-99, behind three players scoring over 20 points.

Talib Zanna produced his 24th double-double of the season with a game-high 24 points and 14 rebounds. Dwight Buycks scored 22 points with eight rebounds and four assists while Frank Gaines added 20 points, five assists and four rebounds off the bench.

Marquis Teague tallied 12 points and seven dimes and Maurice Sutton totaled 13 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Blue and Drive exchanged leads 19 times in the first 21 minutes of the game before Grand Rapids closed the first half on a 10-4 run to own a 51-46 lead at the midway point. Oklahoma City spurred a 23-6 run in the third quarter and outscored the Drive 31-15 overall in the frame, holding Grand Rapids to 29 percent shooting.

"First off, we got stops on defense," said Mark Daigneault on the Blue's big third quarter. "Then offensively we got to making the simple play rather than trying to hit home runs. In the third quarter I was pleased with how we played on both ends of the floor. We responded well."

Oklahoma City led the entire fourth quarter behind 13 points from Buycks and 12 points and six boards from Zanna. The Drive cut the Blue's lead down to three with just under four minutes remaining but OKC responded with a 12-2 run to put Grand Rapids away.

The Blue (23-20) forced 20 Grand Rapids turnovers and outrebounded the Drive 46-37.

The Drive (18-22) was led by Kevin Murphy with 23 points.

Oklahoma City returns to action on Saturday when it faces the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in Hidalgo, Texas. For more information, visit OklahomaCityBlue.com.
