Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers open July and continue their road series at 7:35 p.m. CT against the El Paso Chihuahuas at Southwest University Park...The Dodgers pace the Pacific Coast League with a 47-28 record and have a six-game lead ahead of second-place El Paso in the East Division. OKC leads the current series, 2-1.

Last Game: Following an 11-run loss Wednesday, the Oklahoma City Dodgers bounced back with a solid all-around team effort during a 7-2 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Thursday night at Southwest University Park. Both teams scored two runs in the second inning. The Dodgers took the lead with a RBI single by Jake Amaya and RBI double by Tomás Telis, but El Paso's Eguy Rosario responded with two-run homer in the bottom of the inning. Still tied in the fifth inning, OKC strung together three straight doubles, including RBI doubles by Miguel Vargas and Michael Busch. A James Outman RBI single pushed the lead to 5-2. In the seventh inning, Outman and Amaya each added two-out RBI singles to make it 7-2. Four OKC pitchers combined to limit a potent El Paso offense to two runs and four hits.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Beau Burrows (4-4) makes his 12th start of the season tonight - tied for most among OKC pitchers this season...He most recently pitched June 25 against Round Rock in OKC and lasted just 1.2 innings. He allowed five runs, three hits and four walks with no strikeouts and was charged with his first loss since May 26. The five runs allowed tied his season-high mark, and it was his shortest start since making his pro debut with the GCL Tigers in 2015...Two starts ago in Reno June 17, he threw a season-high 6.0 innings and allowed three earned runs, earning the win in the team's 12-7 victory...Burrows leads the team with 60.1 innings and is second with 63 strikeouts...Over his last three games, Burrows has allowed 15 walks against just two strikeouts in 10.1 innings. Prior to June 11 vs. Salt Lake, he'd never walked more than four batters in his career...Burrows signed with the Dodgers as a free agent Nov. 28, 2021 after playing for Triple-A Toledo and St. Paul last season. He also made five MLB appearances for Detroit and Minnesota...He was originally selected by Detroit with the 22nd pick of the first round in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Weatherford High School (Texas)...In his previous start against the Chihuahuas this season April 14, he allowed four runs and eight hits over 4.2 innings with two walks and three strikeouts (ND).

Against the Chihuahuas: 2022: 7-5 2021: 14-9 All-time: 35-24 At ELP: 20-13 The Dodgers and Chihuahuas meet for their third series of 2022 and second at Southwest University Park...The Dodgers have won seven of the last nine games against the Chihuahuas entering tonight, including five of six at Southwest University Park...The teams played a three-game series in OKC May 17-19 with OKC winning, 2-1, after the teams split a six-game series in El Paso April 12-17 with OKC winning the final three games of the series...Ryan Noda and Miguel Vargas each have a team-best 13 hits against the Chihuahuas this season, while Vargas has a team-best 11 RBI. Jason Martin has hit five homers in 11 games...The Dodgers won the 2021 series between the teams, 14-9, including 8-4 in El Paso. OKC hit 37 homers while holding El Paso to 21 home runs over the 23-game season series. Outside of 2018, OKC has won or split each season series against the Chihuahuas since Tucson's franchise relocated to El Paso for the 2014 season.

Life At the Top: Oklahoma City improved to 47-28 with last night's win, tying their season high at 19 games above .500 as the team reached the halfway point of its 150-game season. With a win over the second-place Chihuahuas, the Dodgers also matched their largest lead in first place in the PCL's East Division this season at 6.0 games...The Dodgers have won 10 of their last 14 games, 12 of their last 17 games and 16 of their last 22 games. They also improved to 12-5 in their last 17 road games...Since a three-game losing streak in late May, the Dodgers have followed up each of their last nine losses with a win in the next game...OKC's 47 wins pace all of Triple-A and are tied for third-most in the Minors...The Dodgers have won five straight series and are now 10-1-3 through their first 15 series of the season...The Dodgers last were 20 games above. 500 when they closed out the 2016 season with an 81-60 record.

In Tune in June: The Dodgers finished June with the best record among Triple-A teams at 18-8. OKC also set a new team record for highest winning percentage in June at .692, besting last season's 17-8 mark (.680). The Dodgers led the PCL with a 4.17 ERA throughout the month and limited opponents to a .229 batting average while allowing a league-low 25 home runs...Their 18 wins were the most by an OKC team in one month since April 2018 when the team opened the season 18-4. OKC's 18 wins were also the most in a month by any PCL team since August 2021 (LV -- 19, TAC -- 18).

Offensive Outburst: OKC entered last night's game batting just .195 over the previous seven games, but went 13-for-39 Thursday, with six players collecting multi-hit games. The team went 6-for-13 with runners in scoring position after going 6-for-39 (.154) with RISP during the same seven-game stretch. Although the Dodgers were held without a home run for just the second time in 17 games, they racked up five doubles for their highest total in a nine-inning game since May 12 at Round Rock...Despite the recent slowdown, the Dodgers still rank second among all Triple-A teams in runs (475) and OBP (.366) and are third in OPS (.821)...Over the last 32 games, the Dodgers are 20-12. In the 20 wins, they've batted .289 (200x691) with 143 runs scored (7.15 rpg), and at least six runs in 17 of the 20 games.

Mound Matters: One night after allowing season highs with 14 runs, 19 hits and nine-extra base hits, the OKC pitching staff allowed just two runs and four hits Thursday. It was the seventh time in the last 11 games they've allowed three or fewer runs and the seventh time in the last nine games they've allowed six or fewer hits, as well as the fifth time in the last 11 games allowing no more than four hits...The bullpen pitched 5.0 scoreless innings, allowing two hits. Justin Hagenman retired all six batters faced between the sixth and seventh innings to earn the win. The bullpen finished June with a 3.73 ERA and .220 opponent batting while allowing just eight of 43 inherited runners to score.

Gettin' Miggy With It: Miguel Vargas went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and a RBI Thursday night, extending his hitting streak to a season-best 12 games - tied for the second longest hitting streak by a Dodgers player this season. During the hitting streak, Vargas is 18-for-47 (.383) with 10 RBI, seven walks and 10 runs scored...For the third time in the team's last four games, Vargas provided a go-ahead hit in the fifth inning that gave the Dodgers the lead for good...Vargas leads the Dodgers with 84 hits, 63 runs scored, 54 RBI, 73 games played and 16 doubles. He paces the PCL in hits and runs scored, while his 144 total bases rank second, his 54 RBI are third, his 32 extra-base hits are tied for third and his 41 walks are fifth.

Drew Point: Drew Avans went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored last night. He's now reached base in a season-best 16 straight games as well as 30 of his last 31 games. Avans wrapped up June by hitting .326 (30x92) with 12 extra-base hits and a team-leading 24 runs scored and 14 walks...His 16-game on-base streak is the longest active streak by an OKC player and the fourth-longest streak overall on the team this season.

Clearance at JMart: Jason Martin was held 0-for-5 last night but finished June with a team-best seven home runs during the month as 13 of his 21 hits in June went for extra bases...Martin ranks tied for first among Dodgers players with five triples and second among Dodgers players with 13 home runs, 14 doubles, 51 RBI and 48 runs scored this season. His 63 hits and 63 games played are third on the team...Martin ranks among the PCL's top six in triples, (T-1st), extra-base hits (T-3rd, 32), RBI (4th), runs (T-5th, 48), SLG (6th, .555) and total bases (T-6th, 126).

Noda-ry Public: Ryan Noda reached base four times last night with two hits and two walks. He is now 8-for-20 over his last six games and 12-for-33 (.364) over his last 10 games, with five multi-hit outings...Noda leads the Dodgers with 43 walks this season, which is just one off the league lead. Yesterday was his ninth multi-walk game of 2022.

Busch League: Michael Busch connected on a RBI double last night, drew a walk and scored a run as he has hit safely in 17 of his last 20 games. Since June 7, he is 23-for-81 (.284) with 12 extra-base hits, 17 RBI, seven walks and 18 runs scored, raising his batting average with OKC by 45 points. Over his last 17 games, Busch is 20-for-67 (.299) with 11 extra-base hits and has tallied at least one extra-base hit in 10 of his last 15 games...He has four homers in his last nine games and six homers in his last 14 games. At 19 home runs overall between OKC and Double-A Tulsa, Busch leads all Dodgers minor leaguers.

Late Risers: After the Dodgers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning yesterday, El Paso scored two runs of its own in the bottom of the inning. Opponents have now scored in either the first or second inning in each of the last seven games. Over the seven-game stretch, the Dodgers have allowed 18 total runs in the first or second inning (14 innings) but 18 runs from the third inning on (48 innings), and 10 of those later runs came in Wednesday night's loss...Although the Dodgers' +105 run differential is best among all Triple-A teams, they have a -9 run differential within the first two innings this season.

Around the Horn: KC is the only team in the Minors with three players who have recorded 50-plus RBI - Miguel Vargas, Jason Martin and Jake Lamb...James Outman went 2-for-5 with a pair of two-out RBI singles in his Triple-A debut last night...Jake Amaya broke out of an 0-for-24 slide yesterday by going 2-for-5 with two RBI. He's now collected 14 RBI in his first 15 games with OKC...The Dodgers have hit a home run in 15 of the last 17 games (23 HR) and in 21 of the last 24 games (33 HR)...After committing a total of four errors over a nine-game span, the Dodgers have four errors over the last two games. Their 68 total errors are second-most in the PCL.
