* Breathing Room-The Tulsa Oilers were able to put a little distance between themselves and their playoff competition last weekend with 6 points in 3 days. Friday the Oilers beat their closest competition Fort Worth, followed by a home and away sweep of the Wichita Thunder.

* Suspended Animation-Justin Ossachuk will be sitting out tonight for the first of four games after coming off the bench last Saturday to fight Wichita's Derek Parker late in the third period.

* Flying High-Jeremy Kyte has had an auspicious beginning to his Tulsa Oilers career. After getting to town last Saturday, acquired off waivers, the former Lubbock forward has 2 goals and an assist in 2 games with the Oilers.

* Hard Charging Champs-Tonight's game will be the only meeting between the Oilers and the defending Central Hockey League champion Laredo Bucks. The Bucks are atop the Southeast Division and have won 7 of their last 11. They are paced once again by Jeff Bes who has 57 points (23g, 34a) to lead Laredo.

* Trois Tireurs-The Tulsa Oilers have three players among the top 25 in the CHL in scoring. Jason Bermingham leads the Oilers in points with 59 points (20g, 39a) and sits tied for 17th in the league. Todd Marcellus' 56 points (25g, 31a) puts him in 22nd. Dan Gravelle sits in 24th with his 54 points (22g, 32a).

* Ruggiero Leading The League-Oilers goalie Bill Ruggiero is leading the league in saves this season with 1398. He is also tied for second in wins with 26, and is third in minutes with 2,501. Ruggiero is also tied for second with 4 shootout wins.

* Getting It Done In Regulation-The Laredo Bucks have played the least overtime games this season with just 2... both were losses.

History-The Oilers and the Bucks have only met twice before... both resulting in 6-4 losses for Tulsa. Almost exactly 1 year ago Laredo topped the Oilers in Tulsa. In 2003 the Bucks beat Tulsa in their arena.
